My Top 5 Underrated Animes

Post your own opinions in the comments! I'd love to hear them and find out what animes you think others should know about!

One Outs:

This is one of my most favorite animes of all time. It's basically a psychological masterpiece. If you like death note, this is for you. Be prepared for a slow 5 episode start to set up the story.

The story begins when Hiromichi Kojima, the star batter of the fictional Lycaons in Japan's Pacific League, heads to the southern Japanese island of Okinawa to train and bring himself out of a slump. There, he meet Tōa Tokuchi, a 134-kmph (83 miles per hour) pitcher and the undisputed king of a gambling form of baseball called "One Out." At Kojima's urging, Tokuchi signs up with the Lycaons under an unusual contract: he gets 5,000,000 yen (about US$46,000) for every out he pitches, but loses 50,000,000 yen (US$460,000) for every point he gives up.

Romeo x Juliet:

This anime's title is very offputting I guess? I mean, you think it's going to be classic Romeo and Juliet, but the first 12 episode of this anime are a masterpiece. This is a good one for anyone who likes the action romance genre.

In the floating continent of Neo Verona, the Montague family seized control and murdered every member of the Capulet family with the exception of Capulet's daughter, Juliet Fiammata Asto Capulet. 14 years later, Juliet and the remnants of Capulet's retainers live hidden from the iron fist of the Montague family. Juliet has long forgotten the murder of her family or her identity, and cross dresses as Odin and the town's hero of justice, "Red Whirlwind". A sudden escape in her daily escapades leads her to meet Romeo Candorebanto Montague, the kind son of the tyrannical Montague. Destiny has been set as these two individuals soon to be "star-crossed lovers" are cruelly toyed with by fate in the midst of war. Loosely based on the play by William Shakespeare.

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad:

This anime is another one of my favorites. It also starts out slow like one outs, and the name is extremely bland and off-putting if you ask me. "Beck." it just sounds so bland for an anime title. However, everyone i've forced to watch this has come out loving it.

Btoooom!:

This would be the perfect anime if it didn't end so abruptly with a to be continued ending. This anime gripped me right from the start. It has the perfect blend of Ecchi, Gore, Action, and Romance. It always leaves you at a cliffhanger that keeps you watching and keeps you thrilled. Even the opening is an amazing song by Nano. This anime foreshadows amazingly, the animation is great and the only bad thing about it if you ask me is the ending.

In the blink of the mind's eye, Ryouta Sakamoto suddenly finds himself transported from playing the hit Btoom! video game to being stranded on a mysterious island, equipped with a day's worth of provisions, a bag of bombs, a strange crystal embedded in his left hand and a huge gaping hole in his memory. But it doesn't take long to figure out what's going on, especially after the first person Ryouta meets tries to kill him. Someone is attempting to recreate the ultra-violent Btoom! game in real life, and the island has been filled with an army of other unwilling players, each armed with one of the multiple variants of explosive weapons called BIM. Fortunately, Ryouta's an ace Btoom! player, but this insane version of the game has no reset switch or second lives, and there's only one way off the island: kill seven other people before they can kill you! Can Ryouta repurpose his game based skills fast enough to survive?

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom:

This anime is just really good. The story gripped me, and kept me. This anime's another action romance that will pull you in and won't let you out until it's over. I loved every minute of it, and I feel alot more people should know it's out there.
